Founded in 1912, The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) is a comprehensive Catholic Benedictine institution of higher learning offering undergraduate and graduate programs. The Executive Director of Strategic Marketing and Communication provides leadership in creating and advancing the College’s Marketing and Communication philosophy and strategies that drive the college’s marketing and communication strategic plans and goals. The Executive Director will lead marketing and communication efforts that align with the College’s strategic plan and inclusive excellence plan. The Executive Director collaborates with senior officers to achieve Marketing and Communication goals and to ensure an extraordinary educational experience for all of St. Scholastica’s students. A strong and clear sense of Mission and purpose influences and shapes every aspect of life at St. Scholastica. The executive Director of Strategic Marketing and Communication will play a key role in advancing the Mission of CSS and the Benedictine values of community, hospitality, respect, stewardship, and love of learning that are at the heart of the College. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Envision and drive the College’s marketing and strategic plan with a focus on strong brand awareness and stellar reputation, enrollment growth, supporting advancement and philanthropic plans, and increasing community engagement. - Create an integrated strategic marketing and communication plan that drives strategy leveraging marketplace trends, consumer trends, industry best practices and data analyses to inform decisions regarding new programs and geographic locations. Implement strategic marketing and communication campaigns to advance the institutions brand, mission, and reputation. - Develop a contemporary marketing organization that serves all areas of the college. Proactively collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure that college goals are accomplished. -Create and manage an effective communication organization that embraces the college’s values, mission and strategic plan, and exemplifies the college’s commitment to Inclusive Excellence, equity, and social justice. - Oversee content, flow, and effectiveness of all outbound communications, including web sites, brochures and newsletters, trade shows, traditional and digital advertising, and recruitment materials and messaging, including the ability to successfully develop and implement a strategy to generate inquiries for all student populations. - Manage all in-house and external marketing services including print and on-line communications, web sites, advertising, and promotional activities. - Support the President’s Office with key internal and external communications. -Develop and maintain positive, productive relationships with both print and electronic media. Ensure that St. Scholastica is well understood by the media while increasing their interest in presenting information to the public in a manner that informs and educates them about the College. - Measure, analyze, and evaluate all major marketing and communication activities and initiatives to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Provide progress reports to the President’s Staff and ensure smooth lines of communication surrounding important news, events, marketing plans, and successes. - Maintain collaborative, open communications with the College’s academic leadership, including the Vice Presidents, Deans, and Program Directors. - Provide leadership, coaching, and talent development to all the marketing and communication staff; provide the tools necessary for them to do their jobs independently and collaboratively in the most effective manner possible. Establish and implement department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. - Work closely with the President and other senior leadership to think strategically at the institutional level and deliver overall business results. - Represent the College at various community and/or business meetings to promote the College. |
