The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invite applicants for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Global Business Leadership. The successful candidate will teach a variety of marketing classes, which should include a focus on technology and analytics, as well as other business courses in the curriculum.
The Global Business Leadership Department consists of an internationally focused group of faculty members and offers a bachelor’s degree in business with concentrations in Marketing, Supply Chain, Social Innovation and General Business.
Global Business Leadership engages a holistic approach in preparing students for business careers in diverse organizations and graduate education. The program enhances students’ critical thinking, creativity, innovation, communication skills, and organizational systems skills. The department has a strong student record of job placements, internships, and study abroad experiences. Deeply embedded in the liberal arts, the Global Business Leadership discipline enables students to become responsible citizens, ethical leaders, lifelong learners, and innovators.
College of Saint Benedict (CSB), a liberal arts college for women; Saint John’s University (SJU), a liberal arts college for men; a graduate School of Theology; and graduate Nursing programs for both men and women. The campuses are located in the central lakes area of Minnesota, surrounded by more than 3,000 acres of pristine forests, prairies, and lakes. With a total enrollment of approximately 3,000 students, faculty members develop relationships with students in small classroom settings and have opportunities to work closely with students on research projects, experiential learning experiences, and study abroad programs. Recent initiatives to create a dynamic general education curriculum and a new teaching and learning center demonstrate strong institutional support for faculty development. Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for teaching three 4-credit courses per semester, plus contributing to departmental and institutional level service, scholarship, and student advising.
Salary Information: Starting at $69,700, increasing commensurate with experience, professional background and education.
Required
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
MBA, or an equivalent Master’s/ graduate degree in business or a related field
Evidence of scholarship and an active scholarly agenda
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity and justice practices
Ability to teach a variety of marketing courses, including a focus on technology and analytics
A willingness to engage actively in the liberal arts, teaching students to tackle new areas of knowledge and make connections
Preferred
Specific education in marketing at the graduate level
Successful, relevant and contemporary business experience
Evidence of teaching effectiveness in an undergraduate teaching position
Strong international focus through international collaborations, teaching, research, work experience, organizations, and/or study abroad
D.B.A. or Ph.D. in marketing, business, organizational leadership, social sciences, higher education, analytics or related field
