Texas Lutheran University invites applications for TWO full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor faculty positions in Marketing starting August 2023. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching classes in our undergraduate and graduate programs. The ideal candidate will be able to teach in person, online, and hybrid environments. A high priority will be given to candidates with teaching experience, evidence of online teaching success, and a research agenda. TLU is a teaching-focused institution that offers select graduate degrees. It is expected that the ideal candidate will be able to teach at a graduate level.
We seek candidates who meet the following requirements:
Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing or business-related field
Competency and interest in teaching a variety of business courses including marketing analytics
Experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in business
Expertise in online, asynchronous teaching (using Brightspace is a plus)
Commitment to excellence in the teaching and advisement of undergraduate and graduate students
Strong organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to teach classes online, nights, and weekends
Work collegially with other faculty members in the department and across campus
Understand and support of the mission of Texas Lutheran University
The candidate’s responsibilities include:
Updating the undergraduate marketing curriculum
Teaching a four-four load (fall, spring, summer availability a plus)
Engaging in curriculum development in the MBA
Assisting the department chair in hiring and mentoring adjunct faculty and course staffing
Providing direct contact to newly admitted students and engaging in recruitment efforts for the department and the marketing specialization
Advising students
Other duties as needed
This is a 9-month, tenure-track, on-campus faculty position in Seguin, Texas which requires being the focal point of the marketing specialization in the BBA and MBA programs and teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in a variety of instructional modalities.
