The Vice President of Marketing and Communication reports to the President and is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating a comprehensive marketing and communications program to support the mission of the College and its strategic plan. The Vice President tracks all marketing efforts, conducts market research, and manages creative services for the entire College.
Duties/Responsibilities:
In consultation with the President and senior leadership develops and executes the College’s marketing and communications strategy in alignment with institutional goals, including: the College website, all advertising and paid promotion for recruitment, public information, media and press relations, community relations and editorial direction of the College magazine and related publications.
Shapes the brand positioning and narrative while targeting key markets and audiences to build awareness and consideration for New England College as an educator of choice.
Serves as the primary resource for developing enrollment communications for traditional and nontraditional academic programs, including interface and support for the CRM system and close coordination with enrollment management. Develops and refines NEC's core messages to ensure brand consistency throughout all communications and all channels, as well social media presence.
Ensures marketing investments are optimized to provide a strong ROI.
Partners with cross-functional teams in admissions to improve the enrollment management process
Manages and maintains all aspects of the College website; creates and/or approves content; guides future enhancement of the College’s presence on the web.
Coordinates and collaborates with academic divisions and departments college-wide, including athletics, to develop and refine communication plans and to enable and support relevant users to update their presence on the college website.
Directs production of publications, promotional pieces, marketing/communication pieces, digital media, website, and social media messaging in the context of the communication strategy and in support of enrollment and recruitment objectives
Manages public relations including press and media communication and crisis management
Plans, manages, and monitors advertising in print, broadcast, and digital media.

Required Qualifications:
Education
MBA or other related graduate degree required
Experience
Seven-ten years of marketing/communications management experience, preferably in higher education;
Expertise with SEO, Paid Search, Paid Social and offline advertising
Demonstrated experience developing marketing and branding strategies for different audiences
Successful track-record shaping brand positioning and narrative, ensuring brand consistency and copy that works in a direct response environment
5-7 years of supervisory experience
