Position Summary
Columbia College???s Marketing & Communications Team is seeking an experienced Director of Digital Marketing & Operations to join its innovative and mission-driven Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Director will oversee the Digital Marketing Team and a portfolio of digital communication channels, including email, social media, and web. This role will also liaise between the marketing/communications/events group and the central information technology teams (Columbia College IT & Columbia University IT). The incumbent will be tasked with short- and long-term digital strategy planning and development, digital operations, and product innovation to help enhance the digital experience across each touch point in the student and alumni journey. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of integrated marketing tactics, web optimization/SEO, content management, and digital analytics, as well as strong project management skills.
Responsibilities
Assess and enhance the marketing tech stack and manage the college???s website, content distribution, functionality, design, and analytics in partnership with the Chief Communications Officer and the IT teams.
Partner with CCO to develop the 3-year digital strategy roadmap inclusive of acquisition and engagement growth targets, content optimization, and new product innovation
Execute digital initiatives from project management to launch, while working as part of cross-functional and collaborative teams
Support the development and integration of consumer relationship marketing (CRM) and the digital marketing processes and systems
Launch campaigns that drive growth across marketing channels through continuous iteration, in collaboration with communications and design colleagues
Lead analysis and ideation sessions around new initiatives with digital functions to pressure test ideas and gain appropriate buy-in
Optimize website content for discovery, shareability, and conversion, in partnership with the Editorial team
Fine tune UX, design, and architecture across key platforms by analyzing key data points from a variety of sources; findings will be shared regularly in dashboards and monthly reports; identify trends and insights to inform tactical decision that help meet digital campaign objectives
Monitor, measure and report on campaign performance, budgeting, including ad hoc analysis as needed
Manage the Digital Marketing team, providing day-to-day guidance and oversight, on-going professional development, and coaching opportunities for these employees
Share best practices for websites, social media, newsletters, and email marketing with relevant colleagues
Stay up-to-date on latest trends and best practices within the higher education, EdTech, and digital communications spaces

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor???s degree required
5-7+ years of relevant experience; a deep-rooted interest and passion for higher education a plus
Possesses a strong understanding and tactical knowledge of digital marketing disciplines that drive qualified leads and traffic to owned channels
Highly organized & proactive self-starter with a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Adept & detail-oriented project manager who ensures that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner
Agile, resilient and adaptable to change; experiments and adapts to win; questions the status quo; works with a 'start-up' mentality to test, iterate, and scale initiatives
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead cross-functionally and build relationships internally and externally
Strong analytical skills combined with a high level of creativity and strategic vision
Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to lead and motivate others
Strong functional working knowledge of MarTech Stack: Adobe Suite, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, social listening tools, Google Analytics; expert in MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
